Norton Clapp House
The Norton Clapp House, 523 North Tacoma Avenue, was constructed in 1890. Architect was Oliver Perry Dennis. In 1940, E. P. Clapp, purchased the house. His son, Norton Clapp, somehow found time to convert the property into a 6-plex. Among Norton's accomplishments: Weyerhaeuser President, National Boy Scouts of America President, one of the builders of the Space Needle and founder of philanthropic Medina Foundation, dedicated to funding organizations that help Puget Sound residents on their path to self-sufficiency. A University of Puget Sound theater is named for him
